Dear Sir

According to promise contained in my note of yesterday I now beg to reply to your question as to whether we could bring the child once a year to the Society's office in order to afford her brother an interview with her, without my name or address being disclosed. Our chief, in fact our only objection to this arrangement is, this we had hoped to have brought the child up as if she had indeed been born to us; & was with this object in view we deserve a child so young
