I wrote to Mr. Carter upon any arrival home thanking him for his kindness & courtesy and stating that I should consequently rely upon his favourably impressing & influencing -- when the subject was discussed by them.

I [?] you [carte] of the child, which perhaps the members of the committee might be interested in seeing, though I would ask you not to shew it to -- at present.

Sincerely thanking you for your kind assurances that you will [?] all possible influence
