April 18th /92

Dear Mr. Dowson,

Your kind letter of the 15th only reached us to-day. We are two days post from Beccles. We have been sorely perplexed what to do, for on Sat. we received orders from Miss Crowfoot to send the child that afternoon, only 5 hours notice! A blinding snow was falling all day & with great difficulty we sent a telegram saying it was impossible & I then wrote by post promising to get him off by Tuesday if possible. I could not see the E Till yesterday afternoon & this am Mrs -- was here [?] to reply to
