April 1st 1887

Dear Mr. Rudolf,

about J.

I have consulted our Committee, and they agree to try him for 12 months as clerk, giving Board, &c and clothing, and 11 per week for twelve months, on trial. If he is [?], we shall keep him longer; if not, we hold ourselves at liberty to send him home. This is the best plan I can propose. Does it meet with your approval!

Yours ever faithfully
