daughter in Belgium. The only condition she made, I remember well, was that she "would disown me if I turned out a drunkard". I have been an abstainer nearly all my life.

This incident was a terrible blow. I thought I could see the great Hand of God's Providence in all. But there, I cannot! - His ways are past finding out! Though I am weak in body, and the tendency of the struggle of life is to drive such as myself to the wall, I know that the Lord Will provide in the future as He has done so marvellously in the past.
