30th March, 1942

Dear Mrs. --

Thank you for your kind note. It is very good of you to put more money in our collecting box. It was a pleasure to give you any assistance, and I only wish we could have done more to help you.

I hope you may be able to obtain your birth certificate, and I should be inclined to keep the letter I sent you, as that would probably be sufficient guarantee for you if it was not possible for Somerset House to trace your entry.

Yours Sincerely,
Girls' Welfare Department

Red Barn Cottages,
Sedlescombe,
Nr. Battle,
Sussex.
