View the Case Summary.

This poor girl has been in the Sunderland "Home for Friendless Girls" for a year, & the Matron gives her a very good character, she is most anxious to be able to maintain herself, she was brought from Cardiff by people who kept a travelling show, who engaged her to look after a baby, but instead of this, she was exhibited as a spotted girl having been marked for this purpose with some chemical, the poor girl was very unhappy & when the show came to Sunderland she found her way to our "Home" She is not very strong, but Dr. -- thinks that if she could be in a milder climate she would outgrow this delicacy, which he considers it owing to the exposure of her past life.
