Miss Cooke never knew the mother, believes she was quite respectable. The father has always been a selfish drunkard, utterly indifferent to his children's life or morals. When at Home they never knew where they shd. get a meal, or a bed at night. Miss Cooke has had charge for some time of the 2 youngest boys, very nice pleasant bright lads. W. not fond of books, & backward for not being kept at school when young, but a gt. athlete for his age & very good at work, a lively energetic boy, & good tempered. mt. be made a capital gentleman's servant.
