Mrs. Ripley (Canon Ripley gives the father an allowance) thinks the mother too indifferent to interfere- but in the future she may think it worth her while to claim the child to the father would feel the matters was settled once for all if the child were at a greater distance. The objections to the child's return to him seem conclusions- & Cannon Ripley has felt obliged to say he will discontinue the allowance on which the father depends if he has the child home. but the father might pressure on Canon & Mrs. Ripley's well known kindness. At the same time there are 3 vacancies & the Committee will accept whatever you decide
