Case 4488

6. Letter from National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children 22 April 1895

View the Case Summary.

St. Giles Parish here, & who I believe has made the man an allowance regularly owing to his blindness, and I have requested him to use his influence to induce the man to allow the child to remain where she is. Knowing that the Canon has this within his power, I trust his effort may be efficacious. Please do not use our names in any reply to, who, although he knows our [vicar] about the matter, may not be pleased to know that we have thus expressed them.

Should the man make nay application to the Bench we have arranged that it should be made known to us at once. If the man knows the authorities are firm I think he will settle his mind.

Believe me
Faithfully Yours
Theo. S. Sharke [Just]
