24th. July, 1899.

Dear Miss Woolley,

I am obliged to you for your letter re M. I do not quite see that the Society is called upon to keep the girl any longer if she is really fit to be placed in service, simply as a matter of convenience to Miss C. The Society has had her under its care for a period of nearly four years and perhaps if Miss C. is anxious that we should continue to maintain her, perhaps she may be able to raise something towards her support, as our Branch at Whitley which has hitherto allowed its collections to be placed to this particular case is now desirous to assist towards the maintenance of a younger child. Perhaps, therefore, you will kindly let me hear from you again as to when Miss C. is prepared to take the girl.

Yours faithfully,
