Dear Sir,

I am writing to thank you for your nice welcome letter, which I received on Friday morning. I am always so pleased to hear from you, and to know how all my old chums are getting on. I am sorry to hear [ ] had to give up his situation, also [ ]. I do hope I shall be able to stop here along time and learn all I can. I like my work very much. Mr T. is very kind and patient with me. I am very happy here. I am pleased to hear you all had such a nice time at the Tiverton Show; I wish I had been with you all. Fancy thirty of the boys being Confirmed. I should like to be next Confirmed here if all goes well. We were busy cutting the wheat here on Monday.

Trusting you are well, I am, Yours sincerely,

(sd) J
