21st April, 1900

Dear Madam,

I am sorry to learn from Mr Macy of the serious illness of the little boy J.

Will you please let me know at once if his relatives have been acquainted, as if not, it seems important that they should be, as the child is apparently in a very serious condition.

I presume he is receiving every possible care and attention, and may add that the Society, if necessary, will be prepared to refund you any exceptional cost that may have to be incurred.

With renewed regrets.
Believe me,
Yours faithfully
(sgd) E. de M. R.

Mrs Whitmall
