29.7.1941.

Mrs. Phillips,
Girls' Welfare Secretary,
Waifs & Strays Society,
St. Michael's, Joel St. Eastcote,
Pinner, Middx.

Dear Madam,

Sister Bentley has passed your letter on to me as I am in charge of the Homes for old people. I am sorry to say that at the moment we have no vacancies as so many people apply who wish to get away from dangerous areas. In addition I am not quite sure that Mrs. -- would be quite suitable for our Homes as we do ask that those who come to us should be able to attend to their personal needs, and walk up and downstairs unaided - and I am afraid that as Mrs. -- walks with sticks she might not be able to manage the stairs.

Yours sincerely,
[R.J. Luges]
Hon. Secretary;
Sunset Homes Dept.
