The candidate is nice quiet lad, somewhat nervous but truthful [?] intelligent. The father was 25 yrs in the employ of Clay he went to Birkenhead, and he later met with an accident is now completely paralyzed. The mother is dead & was a very [respectable] woman. The family is quite dependent on the eldest girl, who has to pay 7/6 per week, for her father in a Cripples Home.
