an individual interest in her upon whom I can fall back. Had I been remaining at home I shd have felt it was just a Providential hardness wh the Lord laid upon me & my kind contributors, wh I must [ask] for and must trust him, but as I am leaving England in Oct. 88 for a permanent residence in India I can do nothing in it myself, nor can I pledge those to [whom] I am giving over the funds (greatly reduced by the changes of hand.) to a [layer] & hearing nothing, wh does not, as it were, exactly belong
