Extract of Letter from Miss Gilpin, The Uplads, Penkridge, Staffs.
dated April 14. 08

re, E.

I am sorry to say this girl is returning to the Home on Thursday from her place with Miss D. at Kesley, nr. Crewe. She does not suit and is slack in her work. We are trying to get her another situation, but this is the second time we have had her returned. We cannot understand it, as she is obliging, honest, and not at all a naughty girl. I only hope that we may be able to place her satisfactorily, for it is a great trouble to the Matron, who did not find her at all tiresome in the Home.
