Case 9045

1. Application to the Waifs and Strays' Society 17 June 1902

View the Case Summary.

This case is I think a very deserving & urgent one. Mrs. [?] is [?] as much as she is every likely to [?] - indeed she is not a strong woman & any day may be unable to continue her regular work. Out of her 15/- a week she pays 3/6 for rent & 3/- 4/- for taking care of the two younger children while she is at work, so that she has only 7/6 a week for the maintenance & clothing of herself & the 3 children. None of her relations are able to help. Mrs. [?] work taker her away from home the whole day & the boy G, left without any one to look after him, has lately got very troublesome & nonresponsible ; he has fallen in with rough bad companions & is in great danger of getting worse & developing criminal behaviour. For this reason I am very anxious to get him out of the neighbourhood. In my much hope the Society will formally entertain this application.
