for it - without the disciple of the army he seemed a poor creature, but his papers have a good character, he gave me £2.10 [?] & promised to send 10/- a week to me & I hoped to get one or 2 helped as the eldest girl is 14. One would soon be able to earn her keep but nothing has been heard of the man since July 31st & I should be [?] liar. I am now if had let [?] late he did run from their comfortable & kind homes to [?] with him
