2nd August, 1904

Dear Miss Joyce,
re C

As I believe you have now a vacancy in your Home, I shall be very glad if you can kindly see your way to give this boy a trial. He was 11 years of age in March last, and for the past eighteen months has been an inmate of our St. Aidan's Home for Little Boys at Whitley Bay, but I regret to say has not been behaving altogether satisfactorily, being untruthful and addicted to pilfering. It is therefore thought advisable that he should be transferred to a Home where he would be under the care of a Master, and receive stricter discipline.
Awaiting your reply,

I remain,
Yours very truly,
sgd. E de M R [?]
