Residents from the Rudolf Memorial Home for Girls, Dulwich were evacuated to the Rudolf Memorial Home for Girls, Banstead at the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939.

In 1941 the Home was amalgamated with the Rudolf Memorial Boys Home and in September 1943 the residents were moved to the Rudolf Memorial Home, Farnham, which may also have been known as Tilford Convalescent House.
