Tait Home, Broadstairs

Broadstairs, Kent

(1942 - c1950)

In 1942 the Society took over St Peter's Orphan and Convalescent Home in Broadstairs and renamed it Tait Home. Just after the transfer, the Home's residents were evacuated during the Second World War to Tait Home, Mortehoe, Devon; but returned to Lanthorne Road, Broadstairs after the war.

There is no other information available about this Home. In the 1952 Annual Report there is a Davidson Home listed as being located in Lanthorne Road. The Davidson Home accommodated babies up to two years old and it is possible that this was the successor to Tait Home.
