St George's Home for Boys, Fleetwood

Fleetwood, Lancashire

(1939 - c1945)

There is very little information available about this Home as it was set up as a result of the outbreak of the Second World War and because it was only in existence for a short time.

Residents of St George's Home For Boys, Kersal and the Rochdale Home for Boys were evacuated to Fleetwood at the beginning of the war in 1939.

By 1943 the boys from Kersal had moved to another site, in Pont-y-Pant in Wales. It is unclear whether the residents from Rochdale had also moved or when the Home at Fleetwood closed.
