Court Lodge Home, Knockholt

Knockholt, Sevenoaks, Kent

(1954 - 1976)

The Home opened in 1965 for girls and boys with 16 residents plus a nursery of three babies. In 1965 the Society reviewed the procedure of moving children on from nurseries to Homes and in order to give more continuity to a child's life it was decided to convert four homes into larger age groups, with a small nursery group. These were Court Lodge Home at Knockholt, Dacre House Home at Rock Ferry on the Wirral, Hawk's Lease Home at Lyndhurst and Pickering Garth in Hull.

The Home closed as a residential unit in 1976 and was converted into a project offering short stays for children from difficult backgrounds or with disabilities.
