Although not part of the Church of England, the Society was, and still is, allied to it. Religious festivals were celebrated both in the homes and in the supporter magazines. This hymn is one of the many that were printed every Autumn to celebrate, and give thanks for, a good harvest. This was especially relevant in homes in rural areas, especially 'farm homes' like Standon Farm Home for Boys.
