power to save him, we have been able to pay for his support here through the winter & up to the 22nd of next month, but after that no more can be done unless you can interfere & rescue him once for all. When the boy first returned he was like one dazed or drugged - quite altered from the happy child he was when living with the P. By degrees he recovered & let one more of his sad expereinces to Mrs. Pegnall, telling her of the goings on in his Mother's house which are too bad for me to repeat. also that she had crads & beer brought from the public house
