let me add in reference to the cost of clothing the boys here, that many who come here poorly provided with clothes go away well provided. And in reference to the coal, that we are 3 miles from the station (2 1/2, uphill) and a ton of coal that has usually cost us 14/- costs 3/- more for cartage. There are two boys [?] and [?], whose relatives ask to have them home. A letter from [?] mother is enclosed. The boy is constitutionally indolent in every way, though not ill-disposed ; nearly 16
