J

I am directed by my Board to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 1st ult: and to state that they sanction the return of this boy to his mothers home at Hopesay upon the condition that the necessary arrangements are made by the boy's relatives for his return. I have written his step-father to this effect and asked him to put himself in communication with you. I shall be glad to hear from you with the date of the boy leaving your institution.
I return the letter sent to you.

P.S. The cloths in which I was sent to your home at Wealdstone and H to your home at New Brighton have not been returned to this workhouse.
